Pink Chestnut Blossom (brooch)

The Pink Chestnut Blossom brooch was worn by the new first lady, Mrs. Eva Pavlová, in January 2023 on the occasion of the announcement of the results of the presidential election. This unique piece of jewellery was designed by Hanuš Lamr, inspired by a beautiful pink chestnut blossoming in the Wallenstein garden. "I wanted to capture the delicate beauty of the short period when we can enjoy this breathtaking flower and its fragility and tenderness," explained Lamr. First, he created a wax model and partially used a technique that he exaggeratedly called "frying" - parts of the model were immersed in hot wax. The brooch is cast from almost pure silver and set with pink glass shards from Bohemian glass foundries. The symbolism of the colour pink in various shades expresses love, affection, devotion, sophistication, freedom and energy. This jewel completed the overall styling, which was designed for the presidential couple by the renowned fashion designer Štěpánka Pivcová. Attached is the artist's certificate of authenticity.
